We carry a wide range of cloths including Dacron, Laminates, Membrane, String and Fibres such as Carbon and Aramid. Here are your cloth choices for our Standard Cruising Sails:Cruising
Economy Dacron |
Radial Dinghy Laminate |
![]() At the most affordable prices we still offer amazing industry leading craftsmanship and designs using SailPack Design Software. |
High tenacity low stretch polyester warp and fill fibres with a black X-ply for off thread line bias performance provides a rugged construction and a modern hi-tech appearance. |
Challenge High Modulus Dacron |
Challenge Marblehead / Fibre 104 Dacron |
![]() This is the most common cruising Dacron used in the industry. Minimizing stretch is the key to creating durable and shape holding sails for easy handling and trim at a great price. The rest comes in the craftsmanship, design and attention to detail that we put into our very popular High Modulus Dacron Sails. |
.![]() The advantage in this cloth over the traditional Dacron's is the tightness of the weave and very high yarn count allowing the cloths strength to come directly from the weave and less depended on resins to hold sail shape. The result is a tougher, more durable and excellent bias control. What does this mean to you? Less sail deformation and the longest life of all Dacron sails! |
Advanced Cruising
Flexible Mylar Taffeta Laminate (Radial) |
Custom Vectran Strung Laminate (Radial) |
![]() This material is heat set and treated with anti mildew and anti UV additives. The benefit of this laminated cloth is that it feels and acts like a woven polyester Dacron. You can easily furl and flake this laminated sail. The radial construction makes this sail ideal for the performance cruisers where durability and performance are required with a soft hand. This sail is comparable to the North Sails Soft Norlam (TM) product line. |
![]() This sail is laminated with an anti fungicide to reduce and eliminate mold and mildew. It is constructed with an advanced rip stop scrim to minimize potential tearing. This sail is exceptional for high UV areas of the world. It utilizes the same UV film technology used on the windows of most skyscrapers. This protects the essential fibers of your sail and the UV film will outlast your sail! This is for sailors looking for long term performance and superiority over a Dacron sail. It is available at the price of a good Dacron sail! |
CDX Polyester Radial Cruise Laminate (Contender) |
Hydra Net Radial (Dimension-Polyant) |
![]()
The CDX laminates are best for the sailors who are continually in varying wind strengths, allowing stability due to the strength of the evenly distributed ZigZag laminated panels. Perfect for a easy to handle sail because the sail shape stays flatter longer, points higher and heals less as the wind increases! Handling and strength is what sets this Contender CDX cloth apart from other Cruise Laminates! |
![]() The woven construction is a breathable platform that totally minimizes mildew! Hydra Net's tight weaves offer superior shape retention, strength and longevity similar to many high end laminate. The softness of this cloth makes it superior to a laminate in its ease to furl and handle. The Hydra Net is the closest controlled manufactured cloths in the industry with the most consistent control of the final product! This very high end sail is perfect for high performance offshore sailors. Design targets and shape retention that were only achieved with laminates are available in Hydra Net! When you buy Hydra Net you are getting the performance of a laminate but with the benefits of a Dacron sail! |
Challenge Warp Drive Dacron (Radial) |
Tetraneema Radial Laminate |
![]() A major advantage of radial construction is that the warp yarns closely follow the load lines in the sail, so the stability of the air-foil depends much less on the bias strength of the cloth. This means that the sail doesn't rely on resin to maintain its camber, and as a result holds its shape much longer, long after the crosscut sail has been distorted. One can make a sail that holds its shape with a softer, easy to handle material. Warp-Drive is also a highly desired cloth over a laminate if mildew is an issue where you live. This cloth is not the cloth of choice in high UV areas of the world due to the high count of fine fibers used in the fill direction. |
![]() UHMWPE has extremely low moisture absorption, is self-lubricating, highly resistant to abrasion and has the highest impact strength of any thermoplastic presently made. The Tetraneema Radial laminate takes on all of these characteristics. The cloth consists of exterior Tetraneema taffetas laminated on either side of a film encapsulated X-Scrim with an infused anti-fungicide chemical. Tetraneema has a strength to weight ratio 40% to 50% higher than Kevlar, twaron and technora. This cloth has tested at only 0.8% creep after 10 hours of sailing. The bias control and elongation strength excels as the warp fibres are weaved tightly with the fill crimped around the warp. This is a modified version of the fibre used for ballistic protective clothing and is very strong and durable. |
Club Racing
Structured Tape Technora |
Club Technora |
![]() The tapes are constructed from technora aramid black fibres that are laid over a polyester scrim base. This addresses the leech to luff load demands of club racers. These sails are rugged yet lightweight. The structural technora tapes create a very strong grid pattern that in return acts as a rip-stop. This overlapping rip-stop prevents excessive tear damages over the lifespan of the sail. The 50mm tapes are constructed of 4 rows of technora fibres. This sail comes standard as a clear film on film configuration. Also available with a single taffeta surface. The taffeta adds weight but also increases durability and lifespan of the sail. Inquire within 60 hours after purchasing online. No additional cost to add a single taffeta. |
![]() The Club Technora consist of two layers of film sandwiching a black polyester x-ply scrim and custom strung technora fibres. The fibres provide a better strength to weight ratio compared with other types of sail construction. Fibres are denser where the sail experiences the heaviest loads and less dense where the sail experiences minimal loads. This eliminates additional weight in unloaded areas. Technora fibers have excellent stretch and UV resistance and are very good in flex when compared to Kevlar. Technora has a range of unmatched performance properties, including:

Black Polyester Radial Laminate (Dimension-Polyant) |
Twaron Advanced Membrane |
![]() This Black Polyester Radial cloth is known for its exceptional performance characteristics as a polyester laminate. Greatly suited for many race classes that specify polyester as the only class legal fiber. This advanced club racing radial is slightly more expensive because of its name brand, design and labour required for a radial constructed sail. |
![]() The Twaron Advanced Membrane consist of two layers of film sandwiching a polyester black x-ply scrim and custom strung twaron fibres. An advanced twaron scrim is used instead of typical polyester scrim in our Club Racing sails. Fibres are denser where the sail experiences the heaviest loads and less dense where the sail experiences minimal loads. This eliminates additional weight in unloaded areas. The fibres provide a better strength to weight ratio compared with other types of sail construction. Twaron has a range of unmatched performance properties, including:
|
Carbon / Twaron Advanced Membrane |
Carbon Advanced Membrane |
The Carbon / Twaron Advanced Membrane consist of two layers of film sandwiching a polyester black x-ply scrim and custom strung Carbon and Twaron fibres. By mixing Carbon and Twaron we are able to build a sail that is stronger than a Twaron fibre on its own. This keeps the price more affordable than a carbon only sail. This sail will be lighter and stronger than the Twaron Advanced Membrane and heavier than the Carbon Advanced Membrane.
Carbon has a range of unmatched performance properties, including:
|
![]() This Carbon Advanced Membrane consist of two layers of film sandwiching a polyester black x-ply scrim and custom strung carbon fibres. Carbon has the best strength to weight ratio and UV resistance of all fibres. This creates the best performing and UV resistance sail. The downside to this fibre is that it is fairly brittle so you must avoid folding and bending the fibres as much as possible. If you are willing to take care of this type of sail it will outperform other options. Fibres are denser where the sail experiences the heaviest loads and less dense where the sail experiences minimal loads. This eliminates additional weight in unloaded areas. The fibres provide a better strength to weight ratio compared with other types of sail construction. Carbon has a range of unmatched performance properties, including:

Black X-Tech Radial Laminate (Dimension-Polyant) |
![]() The Twaron Advanced Membrane consist of two layers of film sandwiching an advanced gold twaron x-ply scrim and custom strung twaron fibres. An advanced twaron scrim is used instead of typical polyester scrim in our Club Racing sails. The fibres provide a better strength to weight ratio compared with other types of sail construction. Fibres are denser where the sail experiences the heaviest loads and less dense where the sail experiences minimal loads. This eliminates additional weight in unloaded areas. Twaron has a range of unmatched performance properties, including:
|
![]() This cloth utilized two high end technora scrims instead of typical polyester scrim. The technora scrim is fill orientated for increased luff to leech strength. This is critical for roller furling and over-lapping headsails. High tenacity technora fibre offers high flex and impact durability. Black aramid warp fibers provide load line strength in tri-radial construction. Black die on the technora fibres increase UV resistance. This radial cloth comes from one of the best names in the racing industry, Dimension-Polyant! |
Carbon / Technora Advanced Membrane |
GPL GraphX Performance Radial Laminate (Dimension-Polyant) |
![]() This Performance Carbon / Technora Advanced Membrane consist of two layers of film sandwiching the best aramid black x-ply scrim and mixture of carbon and aramid fibres. Carbon is the lowest weight and highest strength fibre but it tends to be brittle on its own. By adding technora fibres with the carbon it supports the carbon and gives the sail increased durability and flex over a carbon only sail. The technora makes up for the weaknesses of carbon fibres and the carbon provides a much higher performance sail. Fibres are denser where the sail experiences the heaviest loads and less dense where the sail experiences minimal loads. This eliminates additional weight in unloaded areas. Carbon has a range of unmatched performance properties, including:
Carbon alone has a low resistance to shock loading but technora fibres have one of the highest levels of elongation and shock loading before breaking. |
![]() High strength carbon warp sheet fiber, super rugged technora scrim and technora x-ply create this super sail! This laminate offers incredible resistant to flex, elongation and degradation from UV exposure! The sail is constructed with 5 layers laminated and inserted together: This radial cloth comes from one of the best names in the racing industry, Dimension-Polyant! It is their highest end racing cloth! |
