Rig Specifications
These are the specifications provided by the designers, but even from the factory, these boats may not be identical. The reason for this is that the sail industry often contracts manufacturing to different sources in order to achieve economies of scale. What this means is – your PDQ 32 may be more unique than you initially thought.
It’s important to note that boats are also frequently customized, so if you suspect that work has been done on yours, it’s best to take your own measurements. When ordering a sail, we will advise you if using the manufacturer’s specifications is appropriate, or if we require you to complete our own measurement forms.

History and Construction
The PDQ 32 was designed by Canadian yacht designer Alan Slater and first introduced in 1994. This vessel is built using a resin-infused vacuum bagged process, resulting in a lightweight yet strong hull. The deck is cored with foam for added strength and insulation, and the bulkheads are also foam-cored for reduced weight.
The boat’s overall length is 32 feet, with a beam of 16 feet, providing ample space for a comfortable cruising experience. It has a displacement of 7,200 pounds, with a draft of just 2.5 feet, making it ideal for cruising in shallow waters. The mast is made of high-quality aluminum, ensuring excellent sailing performance.
Sailing Performance
The PDQ 32 is known for its excellent sailing performance. The vessel is easy to handle, even for single-handed sailors, and performs well in a variety of wind conditions. The boat’s shallow draft allows it to sail in shallow waters, making it an excellent choice for cruising in the Bahamas, Florida, and other areas with shallow waters.
