Welcome to Sail Life

Mads and Ava began the ‘somewhat’ extensive refit of SV Athena, a 1987 Trident Warrior 38, in 2016 and her transformation has been an incredible journey.  Never one to shy away from a little sanding, they have tackled her refit tasks both big and small. From building a new rudder using vacuum infusion, to gutting the interior for structural repairs and then rebuilding it to create a new interior, Mads has expertly documented their refit adventures on his YouTube channel.

SV Athena returned to the water and this experienced DIY couple set sail in the fall of 2021 for their first Atlantic crossing.  Precision Sails is excited to partner with Mads and Ava and be a part of their sailing adventures as they complete SV Athena’s remaining refit tasks and chase their dreams of living a Sail Life.
