J/35 Sailboat
The J/35 is a thrilling racer boat that was initially designed by Rod Johnstone. It was manufactured by Tillotson Pearson in the United States and by Sydney Yachts in Australia. Both the manufactured designs remained in production from 1983 to 1992.
This recreational keelboat can displace 10,500 lb. of weight and carries a heavy-duty steel ballast of 4,400 lb. It is propelled by a 30 HP Japanese Yanmar diesel engine. The fuel tank holds 20 US gallons of fuel, while the water tank carries 35 US gallons of freshwater. Being a racer boat, the J/35 sails with a monohull. It has a length overall (LOA) of 35.50 ft. and a waterline length (LWL) of 30.00 ft. It features a mounted spade rudder that is controlled by a fin keel and a wheel. This design sports a masthead sloop rig, a reverse transom, and a raked system. Its Bermuda rig features a 46.60 ft. foretriangle height, a 14.80 ft. foretriangle base, a 41.60 ft. mainsail luff, and a 14.00 ft. mainsail foot. Similarly, the mainsail area is 291.20 sq. ft. The jib area is 344.84 sq. ft.
The J/35 boasts an aesthetic design woven with fiberglass, balsa core sheets, and wooded trims. It features a self-bailing cockpit adorned with teak footrests. The cabins comprise opening ports, six berths, two settees, two-burner stoves, a sink, and storage compartments.
